DAYAKS AND CHINESES IN POLITIC PARTY OF BORNEO- SABAH AND SARAWAK

In the olden days we used to hear of stories of Chinese cheating the Dayaks during barter trading. But, later, the Dayaks got smarter and later cheated the Chinese back by putting rocks at the bottom of their damar baskets.

As a result we don't trust the Chinese.
We also fear of being cheated. (But then we cheated them back)

The bottomline is being smart.
Why shouldn't we not work with a "Chinese" party?

1. In any event DAP never claim itself a "Chinese" party. It is the non Chinese who brand DAP as a Chinese party.
2. At the moment DAP is the only opposition party that has some strength to challenge BN. BN knows this!! (That's why BN used DAP as the bogey man and as a bashing object.)
3. By the way if we do fear Chinese parties so much, why do the Dayak community work hand in glove with Chinese parties like SUPP, SPDP, UPP, MCA & Gerakan in BN? We have Dayaks who are members and YBs in SPDP AND SUPP!
   ( But do they fight for Dayak cause ? No! They only fight for themselves)
   Therefore is is a "mortal sin" to be in DAP?
4. DAP had promised to appoint a Dayak to be CM if it wins the election and become the govt. Has any other party in BN promised or willing to do that? None.
5. DAP also promised to recognise pemakai menoa of the Dayaks.
6. All our NCR Land predicaments now are NOT caused by DAP BUT BY the present BN Govt.
7. Businessmen are opportunist who will buy properties including NCR Lands when avalable? Who give the opportunity? NOT DAP BUT THE CURRENT BN GOVT.
8. Can a DAP led govt resolve our land problems? I believe we can! Give us the opportunity to prove ourselves.
9. Remember it is not just Foochows who take NCR Land. They only buy what are available for sale in the market.
10. Who sell our NCR Lands? Go and check records in Land and Survey and Govt Depts, they are given by Elite people in high places including Dayak YBs and community leaders.
11. Only Foochows buy? Are Sime Darby, Tawakkal, Austral, Tabung Haji owned by Foochows? I am not defending DAP. I believe if a party is to be the govt it must be above reproach and be accountable. But we must have our facts straight.
12. I believe we much smarter now than our all folks to avoid being cheated. We joined DAP on the 7 Points Blueprint.
13. All the while the Dayak community has been in BN how did we fare? I believe we have been cheated? BUT DO WE Want to be in a party which keeps on cheating us? By all means. I believe We dont want to be in a party where we Dayak suffer because of "bagi badak".

Time for change has come. It comes because the people want it. We all need it. Change comes from the people. Leaders only embrace the change.
